A Word From OCRA

Hello Retirees:

I am writing to you on behalf of the Ontario Colleges Retirees' Association to ask if you would be interested in serving on the OCRA Board as a director.

OCRA is a volunteer Board serving CAAT retirees across the province. It has been in existence since 2001. Our mission is to advocate on matters of concern for CAAT retirees - particularly pensions and health benefits. For more information about OCRA please visit the website at http://www.ocraretirees.ca

This year OCRA is looking for 4 directors to replace those retiring from the Board. We are interested in people who have writing skills, experience using databases and are comfortable communicating via email. There will be director positions available in communications, membership and public relations. A director's term of office is for 2 years and can be renewed.

The OCRA Board meets approximately 5 times a year, often in the GTA area. We can teleconference for those who cannot attend meetings in person. Much of the Board business is conducted through email. We do not hold meetings during the winter months (Jan. - Mar.)

Elections to the Board will be held at the General Meeting Oct. 29, 2009 at Fleming College in Peterborough. We are pleased this year that Derek Dobson, the new CEO of the CAAT Pension Plan will be the keynote speaker at the General Meeting.

Would you be interested in serving on the OCRA Board? Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Linda
