Questions and Answers

Fennell, Brantford, STARRT

The college has moved to hassle free parking and has included the cost of parking in a transportation fee that has been added to all continuing education courses offered at Fennell, Brantford and STARRT. The fee does not apply to Distance Education courses or coursed offered at locations other than Fennell, Brantford or STARRT.

Your display permit is now included with your registration receipt and entitles you to park at Mohawk after 5pm and on weekends while you are attending class. If your pass was not included, please call 905-575-2176 or visit the MCACES Resource Centre at Fennell Campus or Student Life at Brantford and STARRT Campus.

You will need to display the permit in your vehicle when you park at Mohawk. Displaying your permit ensures that you can choose the most convenient parking spot for your access to the College, while allowing the College to charge other visitors to use our parking lots.

There will be a grace period for displaying permits for those registering close to the start of classes.

The college has made significant improvements for students and staff who choose alternative modes of transportation, including car pooling, transit, walking and cycling and those who are dropped off at the College. New designated drop off and pick up areas, carpooling locations and new and improved bike racks were installed in September.

Questions & Answers

I always walk or ride my bike to the class. Am I entitled to participate in the Pilot project?

Yes. To receive your incentive, take your Acknowledgement of Registration and parking display permit to any of the locations mentioned above.

I carpool to the College. Am I entitled to participate in the Pilot Project?

Special parking spots were established in September to recognize those students who carpool. Any car arriving at the College with at least one passenger is permitted to park in these designated spots.

I am dropped off at the College and therefore don’t use the parking lot. Am I entitled to a Greening Mohawk Incentive?
The Greening Mohawk Incentive Pilot Project is designed to award those people who choose to use modes transportation that are least harmful to our environment. While being dropped off does mean fewer cars in the parking lot, it does not cut down on greenhouse gases and may actually increase harmful emissions through idling and increased trips to and from the College.

I am a day school student with a day time parking pass, do I need an evening pass?

Day school students who hold a valid general or preferred pass are not required to pay for an evening pass, and are entitled to a refund. Refunds are processed by the Mohawk College Parking and Security Department, using the following form: CE Transportation Fee Credit Request
