Bursary funding is available for CE students through the Ontario Special Bursary Program, the Mohawk College Continuing Education Help Fund, Scholarships and Bursaries and MCACES Bursaries.
The Ontario Special Bursary & CE Help Fund
The Ontario Special Bursary and the Mohawk College Continuing Education Help Fund are intended for Continuing Education students who have a low income. The bursaries assist students with tuition fees, books, and travel for programs that are approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Please note that applications for the OSBP and CE Help Fund are accepted no more than 30 days after the start of your Continuing Education course. You may apply each semester if you meet all criteria outlined on the cover page of the OSBP application.
Four weeks before the start of Continuing Education classes, you may reserve a seat in a CE course. A completed OSBP/CE Help Fund application, including all supporting documentation, is required to reserve a seat.

How to Apply for OSBP:
Your CE Registration form and OSBP application must be fully completed and handed back to CE Registration.
You must submit photocopies of Supporting Documentation with your OSBP application for the following:
- Sole Support Parent - Copy of Child Tax Benefit Statement
- Married - Copy of Marriage Certificate
- Divorced - Copy of Divorce Papers
- Separated/Common-Law - Affadavit
- Government Income - Copy of Cheque Stub
- Protected Person - Copy of Protected Persons Status Document
- Income Information - Copy of most recent pay stub
- Permanent Resident - Copy of both sides of Permanent Residence card or copy of Landed Immigration Papers
Completed applications can be returned to the above-mentioned locations.

Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students (MCACES) Bursaries
Recipients must be in financial need, working towards a diploma or certificated and be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and an Ontario resident of at least 12 months.
Barbara Szpak Spirit Award
The Barbara Szpak Spirit Award for Continuing Education Students is an award given to students based on financial need, academic success and community involvement. The deadline to apply is October 15th.
MCACES Bursaries
The MCACES (Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students) Bursary is an award based on financial need. Deadlines to apply for this bursary are September 15, January 12 and April 15.
McDermott Bursary
The McDermott Bursary is an award given to students based on financial need and ability to complete their program of study. The deadline to apply for this bursary is September 15 and January 12.
PLEASE NOTE: MCACES Bursaries, Szpak Bursary and the McDermott Bursary are available on a yearly basis and the amounts varies.
Services provided by the Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students:
Food Share: MCACES has a “no questions asked” policy. Students are encouraged to take what they need and are welcome to 3 visits per month. CE Food Share is located in the MCACES Resource Centre, F114, Fennell Campus or Student Engagement at STARRT, IAHS and Brantford Campuses.
Legal/Credit Counselling: MCACES offers free legal and credit counselling to registered Continuing Education/Distance Education Students. Call 905-575-1212 ext. 3010 to make an appointment.
Free affidavits relating to College Business: Call 905-575-2133 to arrange an appointment.
